“1-100”

“1-100” is a project where I photographed individuals, from a one year old infant, to someone at the outer edge of our human lifespan, at 100 years old.

This series is a visual reflection of time and aging. An examination of what we, as human beings, show to the world. How we go from babbling and attempting our first steps to confronting a similar fragility again as a senior. The older subjects in this project carry wrinkles that belie the youth they feel everyday.

This project began as a manifestation of my desire to get better at lighting. I woke up one morning from a dream about taking one hundred images, all lit and composed in exactly the same way, and how impossible that reality felt. I decided then that I had to complete this project: One hundred portraits, each lit, processed, and presented identically, with the subjects as the only variable.

These images are a collective archive of what it means to be human in the year 2025. Wisdom through the eyes of each generation.
